That looks great! Nice GUI! I know how hard it is to make one that looks interesting and functional, and you nailed it in that screenshot. What kind of game is it?

Great work!

In my opinion drop shadows and lighting gradients (I added one to the grass to be brighter at the top center and darker at the edges) are key to give a GUI depth. Here's a quick mockup.

No. Since I only had your final image to work with I painted over it by hand to make the mockup. I've attached the basic techniques though. You'll probably find them simplistic. :)

Used the dropshadow with some minor mods... Also stop using synthisis for lattis and just went with simple nodes... the shadowing and artifacts just didnt work... also used the lighting as it was for the main background... Anyway here is the image I came up with for the sides...

not sure I am happy with the water drops... may have to use the canvas as a mask for the ones that look good... Unless someone has a better solution... but other that that I don't see any defects..
