Nice! You could perhaps combine it with a spiralling one as well to get a spiral arm thing going on.

Now that you mention it, it does look a bit like the spiraling of a barrel.

Barrel? I guess you are close enough. I saw once in a museum of science something like a big funnel. A metal ball will start spinning at the top and spiral gradually into the center to disappear inside a hole. I tried to recreate it but I must confess the funnel impression is not the best.

Just to clarify (if you aren't sure what I meant) was the barrel of a rifle, the spiraling is what spins the bullet.
