Here's an interesting little art filter based on halftone:

And here's the basic halftone effect it's based on, which will turn an image into a dots pattern. Dragging in an alternative base pattern, such as the bars, will create a halftone made out of bars instead.

Impessive. I would have spent days trying to figure out how to do something like this. Thank you for showing how it is done.

Some may recognize this one as an effect I did a few years back. But it's been redone so that the photos are placed automatically instead of by hand, which means that any number of photos can be placed without increasing the amount of work.

I will need to think about this but didn't the original version of the photos filter add a small offest to each image? Must be a way to automate this and include it in the general solution.

I know there have been other examples of similar effects but I took the half tome simulation from the neon art and ran off sideways with it: Not what you were expecting.

Yes, there were subtleties in the original that I couldn't think how to automate when I made this. But today the solution came to me immediately.
