Egyptian wall decoration

When I looked at this I was intrigued by the non regular pattern of interlocking circles so I had a look at the .gtx

I was thinking in terms of a combination of procedural nodes but given your general leaning towards the canvas I should have guessed.

Nothing wrong with using a canvas but the first look had started me think procedurally so I had to see if it was possible. OK I cheated slightly by using a style node as a short cut to the gold flowers but here's a version with no canvas nodes at all:

I re-worked it a bit, bumped it forward around 1500 years, shifted it a couple of thousand miles north west and gave it a medieval French vibe.
