I bought this program a few years ago but have just recently started playing. I have experimenting with the cut&tile lab for 2-3 days now. I am rather pleased with some of my results. Just wanted to show some of them here.

Here is the file. It is really as simple as could be. It is 3.5 beta file, for texture it uses stones from synthesis photo library.

Excellent textures. It shows how powerful Gentica is now with the new advanced nodes. thumbsup.gif thumbsup.gif thumbsup.gif

They look great!

I do think we should be able to have more inputs in cut and tile though, now we have material and pattern, but idd also like a mortar material slot smile.gif

Excellent quality! It's nice to see the new Synthesis node being used in combination with some old classics like Cut & Tile.

Thanks!

As i said it is a very simple setup, but I think that is the best way to start. I find moving 1 or 2 sliders a tiny bit can make the difference.

A mortar material slot is a good idea.
To get the mortar to blend with the tiles was where I spent most time.

you could always get a nice look for the tiles and the convert the cut and tile lab to nodes, then go in and add your own mortar material.

Nice work, these look great smile.gif

I have suggested more inputs for labs like the cut and tile before in the V3 Report And Ideas Thread, this and other labs could be far more powerful now with things like multiple outside noises/generators/colors for more complex stuff. The new curves feature would be good to set a bevel slope also and the gradients should be optional as well as the 5 color type things there is in some of them as gradients is another time saving feature. Hopefully this is all on the to-do list already though as it would make them much more useful now with all the newer features. thumbsup.gif
