I finally broke down and upgraded to Studio because an animation idea was eating my brain (a bubbling slime tile like the Swamp Goo in RCT2, thanks so much RCTWorld   ).  The Scrying Pool preset looked closest to what I want, so I looked at how the ripple effect was done and set up a map that would fade out and repeat (had a little trouble with the timing once I had three ripples and didn't want them all to pop at the same time).

Still needs tweaking, but not bad for a first attempt.

Nice job!

Thanks!  For some reason I can't post a render, so anybody who wants to feel free.

Latest attempt, looking a lot truer to the original!  I'm not sure the scumminess of the surface looks quite right (Lichen with the turbulance and detail up), but otherwise I'm really pleased with how it turned out!

In RollerCoasterTycoon2 this was part of the Creepy theme, so the little moaning ghost face turning up in the ripples was a happy happenstance.

I like the oily look of the liquid.

I was going for scummy, but I'll take oily -- thanks!
