Hi Folks,

Not sure how active these forums are these days but I figured I'd try anyway.  :)

I've had Genetica 3.6 Pro for quite some time but I haven't had much time to dedicate much time to properly absorb all of the its features and power until now.

I'm trying to create an HDRI Horizontal Cross out of an existing HDRI Mirror Ball and I can't for the life of me figure out how to do it.  I look at the help and the video tutorials and some of the HDRI related posts in these forums but I'm still stuck.

In a nutshell, I'm trying to:

1. Open an existing .HDR file (5120 x 2160)

2. Convert it to a Horizontal Cross maintaining as high a resolution as possible

I can open the HDR via File > Open.  When I select Render > Render Environment Map, the dialog appears but I don't see the HDR image I opened.  Would greatly appreciate any assistance from fellow Genetica members.

After more experimentation, I was able to obtain a result in Genetica 3.6 Pro by following these steps:

  1. Select Render > Render Environment Map
  2. Click the Edit Map button

In the Edit Environment Map window.

  1. In the Layers area, click the Clear button
  2. Click the New button
  3. Click the Edit Layer tab
  4. Select Image as the type
  5. Click the Select button

In the Select Image window.

  1. Click the Import tab
  2. Click the Import Image button
  3. Select the HDR
  4. Click the OK button

In the Edit Environment Map window.

  1. Click the OK button

In the Render Environment Map window.

  1. Select the desired output format (ex: Horizontal Cross)
  2. Click the HDRI button
  3. Save the file in HDR format
