I think Genetica 3.5 will be a lot of additional fun.

I suspect that there will be a flood of image based textures immediately after the beta release. Most will be quite fun and interesting but few will be truly useful. The real power of the new nodes will only come to the fore when we start taking the time to integrate them with the features we are familiar with.

Here is a very crude example adding to one of Atlasí previously posted images.

Yes I know it can be optimised with a group and instanced input (Image import node), but I have left it all at one level to make what there is of the structure clearer.

Nice example. Yeah, I agree with you that some of the hottest results will come from the subtle combination of procedural and photo-based effects. I haven't had time to try my hand at it yet (aside from quick tests to verify that it can be done).

Excuse the watermark: I happened to be testing the demo when I rendered this.

A nice way to get to sleep with infinite sheep... but seriously, its pretty neat, all kinds of neat patterns can be made, also nifty backgrounds for 2d games etc, cant wait!

Nice texture. :) The pattern does not exactly repeat itself. I am waiting to pay with this upgrade.
