Do you mean the "weather" node ? Here I couldn't bring something's really interesting with this node...

I have started to work on Blocks. For the Scifi ones all is made automatically too !!!

My objective is to make a large variety of Blocks (Wood, Stones, Scifi,...) without drawing anything (9 red rounded squares on a black background at start ! + some included basic shapes if needed !).

Then I use the different parameters from one Genetica's node...

It's a lot of fun because I can have totally different and crazy renders by modifying a few parameters. Wonderful software !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love the Scifi ones.

I often work with the circuitry noise but never thought of something like that.

Very cool !

The circuitry could also be plumbing or electrical conduit for a ship or something. Plenty of scifi uses.

Wow, that's really something! I love the scifi as well. Yeah, I was thinking of the weathering node. I know there's some discoloration in the previous posts. I was thinking more grunge might be interesting.

Thanks a lot...

@MichaelH : Yes, this Circuitry noise is really cool. I was surprised when I saw the first render of these scifi blocks. ;-)

@Silkrooster : Exactly ! Plenty of uses... Especially after the new trick I have found (see below !).

@bholtzman : More grunge ? Do you have an example ? New ideas are always interesting.

I have found a "new" way to do them : And now I can mix full or empty areas !!! The blue one could be a kind of Stargate !?!

I am thinking the grunge look would take away from the cel shaded look. But if you wanted to head that way, it would add more realism since it would be adding more colors to the mix. I really can not think of a way to do both but would be interesting to see if it does happen.

I have tested with some included Metal Styles. Here are the results with the "bionic eye" environment map for example, with and without noise (and without Antialiasing) :

And here with Antialising and a thin outline : first one -> black outline ! second one : dark yellow outline ! (Sorry ! Not really Cell-Shading here but I had to try it !)

And here are 2 Cell-Shading renders with several colors without and with Antialiasing : Is that what you meant with more grunge ?

By mixing all the tricks I have found I could make this kind of render... looking more quickly handdrawn, no ?

And before someone asks for it : To mix my different works... Yes, I can add shadows, change the cement color and give a painted effect !!!   :painting:
